How To Play Scattergories
Wednesday, May 14th, 2008Want to learn how to play Scattergories? It’s much easier than you might have thought.
Each player gets four things: a blank answer sheet, a plastic clipboard to write on, a card listing the round’s categories and a pencil. One player must then role the die, upon which is almost every letter of the alphabet. Whichever letter comes up on the die must be used to answer each category.
For example, let’s say that a player rolled an R, and the category they’re facing is ‘Famous actors’. They’d have to supply an actor whose first or last name starts with an R. So, in this case, ‘Rick Moranis’ would be acceptable.
After the letter is chosen, the players start the timer and run through their list of categories. When time’s up they read off their answers. Any players who have the same answers get no points; those with unique answers, however, get a point.
